We play an ongoing role in representing Kropz in defending various appeals against the mining right and associated permits including water use licences in respect of their phosphate mine on the West Coast of South Africa – the second largest phosphate deposit in South Africa.

We successfully represented Kropz in defending an appeal against their mining right. The Minister of Minerals rejected the appeal in December 2017. We also successfully defended an urgent High Court interdict application seeking to suspend Kropz water use licence.

We also successfully advised Kropz and Bank Paribas on a lender due diligence and in respect of a due diligence carried out by an investor in the mine.
