Nikhil Bhogal is a Senior Associate in the corporate and commercial department at Werksmans and primarily advises clients in significant high-profile M&A transactions both locally and across the African continent. He focuses on all aspects of corporate law with a specific emphasis on M&A, corporate restructurings, cross-boarder transactions as well as local stock exchange requirements.

  • Assisting an entity listed on the JSE establish an executive retention scheme which required Nikhil to draft the applicable transaction documentation as well as coordinating efforts between the applicable listed entity's sponsor, the listed entity and certain material shareholders, from time to time;
  • Advising a local private equity entity in introducing a management share incentive scheme involving a notional debt structure; and
  • Advising Mylan South Africa Proprietary Limited (a local affiliate of a multinational pharmaceutical company presently listed on the NASDAQ) in acquiring a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility from Ascendis Health Limited (a public entity listed on the JSE) [Drafting Note, this was prior to me having joined Werksmans].
