Senior Associate Michiel Heyns advises in the Business Crimes & Investigations and Labour & Employment practice areas. His areas of specialisation include employment litigation and dispute resolution; commercial employment and labour advice; legal drafting; occupational health and safety; and forensic investigations. Michiel studied at Stellenbosch University, where he obtained a BA (Law); a BA Hons; an MA and an LLB.

  • Unfair dismissal disputes, unfair labour practice disputes, interdict applications, restraint of trade disputes, contractual disputes, demarcation disputes, collective bargaining disputes, civil litigation arising from employment relationships;
  • Advice on dismissals related to misconduct, poor performance, ill health and operational requirements, including chairing of disciplinary hearings, drafting of recommendations and findings and assistance with preparation for internal disciplinary hearings.
