Danny Andropoulos is a Director and Head of Werksmans’ Commercial Department. He advises in the Banking & Finance, Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and Insolvency & Business Rescue practice areas. Danny specialises in various aspects of banking and finance including the restructure of financially constrained and/or distressed companies, asset finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, preference share transactions and solvent corporate debt restructure, acting variously for lenders (in both the single lender and in the syndicated lender environment) and borrowers. He also has deep experience in merger and acquisition transactions in which he provides advice in relation to structuring, shareholder arrangements and management participation. Danny is recognised by various local and international research organisations for his expertise in banking and finance and mergers and acquisitions.

  • Basil Read Ltd (and its subsidiaries) in its negotiations with lenders and other creditors for purposes of achieving a debt standstill and the provision of bridge funding and thereafter in its business rescue and the disposal of its assets (2018-2019)
  • ELB Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd in raising post commencement finance and in its business rescue (2019-2021)
  • Group Five Ltd (and its subsidiaries) in its negotiations with lenders and other creditors for the purposes of achieving a debt standstill  and the provision of bridge funding and thereafter in its business rescue, the procurement of post-commencement finance and in the disposal of its assets (2018-2022)
