Danny Andropoulos advises in the Banking & Finance and Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions practice areas.

He specialises in various aspects of banking and finance including asset finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, preference share transactions and corporate debt restructure, acting variously for lenders (in both the single lender and in the syndicated lender environment) and borrowers.

He also has deep experience in merger & acquisition transactions in which he provides advice in relation to structuring, shareholder arrangements, management participation and broad-based black economic empowerment structures.

Danny is recognised by various local and international research organisations for his expertise in mergers & acquisitions and banking and finance.

  • 2018: Advised Dawn Limited in the disposal of its shareholding interests in certain of its subsidiary companies.
  • 2018/2019: Advised the purchaser of the House of Busby enterprise in that acquisition.
  • 2018/2019: Advised the South African and International consortium of lenders in the Edcon Limited restructure.
  • 2018/2019: Advised Basil Read Limited (and its subsidiaries) in its negotiations with lenders and other creditors for purposes of achieving a debt standstill and the provision of bridge funding and thereafter in its business rescue.
  • 2018/2019: Advised Group Five Limited (and its subsidiaries) in its negotiations with lenders and other creditors for purposes of achieving a debt standstill and the provision of bridge funding and thereafter in its business rescue.
