Werksmans Attorneys Graduates “What’s Your Appeal Quiz”
- Werksmans Inc. (“Werksmans, we, us, our”) is the promoter of the “What’s Your Appeal Quiz” competition. Participation in the competition excludes any employees, agents, or consultants of Werksmans Inc., their subsidiaries, holding companies, divisions, associated companies, advertising, promotion, or sales agencies, or any other person directly or indirectly controlling or controlled by Werksmans Inc., or their spouses, life partners, or business partners.
- The competition is open to individuals who are citizens of South Africa or legal residents in South Africa who are studying law at any South African accredited educational institution during the period of the competition.
- The online quiz hosted by the promoter is designed solely for entertainment, fun, and engagement purposes. The results obtained from the quiz do not possess any scientific or psychological validation. Participants understand and acknowledge that the quiz is intended for recreational use only, and the promoter does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of the quiz results in any scientific or psychological context.

- The quiz will run from 1 March 2024 and end on 28 February 2025. Every three months, the quiz topic will change as follows:
- 1 March – 31 May: Animal Edition
- 1 June – 31 August: Plant Edition
- 1 September – 31 November: Symbol Edition
- 1 December – 28 February: Lawyer Edition
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- To enter the competition and stand a chance to win, participants must complete the quiz on the Werksmans website, fill in their details, screenshot their result, share it on social media, and tag @WerksmansGrads and a friend while following Werksmans Grads on social media. One entry will be earned for one successfully completed quiz and filled-in details. Two entries will be earned for one successfully completed quiz, filled-in details, and shared to social media and tagged Werksmans Grads. Three entries will be earned for one successfully completed quiz, filled-in details, shared to social media, tagged Werksmans Grads and tagged a law student friend. All entries will go into a lucky draw to win the cash prize of five thousand rand every two months.
- The promoter shall use your personal information by the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013 (POPIA), and only for the purpose set out in these terms and conditions.
- The prize for this competition is R5000 in cash, awarded to one winner every second month according to the following schedule:
- 1st Winner – 30 April 2024
- 2nd Winner – 30 June 2024
- 3rd Winner – 31 August 2024
- 4th Winner – 31 October 2024
- 5th Winner – 18 December 2024
- 6th Winner – 28 February 2025
- Bi-weekly spot prizes will also be available and bi-weekly winners will be chosen via random selection.
- The prize is non-negotiable, non-transferable, and non-refundable.
- Should the winner not be able to accept the prize for any reason, they will forfeit the prize.
- The winner will be announced on Werksmans Grads’ social media platforms and contacted directly.
- If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 48 hours of notification, the promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and choose a replacement winner.
- Winners will receive their prize within 10 working days of being contacted, provided that all the relevant documentation has been received by the promoter.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- The prize is as stated, no other alternatives will be offered. All prizes (grand & spot) are subject to availability and the promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
- The winner will be chosen via random draw, aligned to the entry mechanism and will be selected via the promoter’s system.
- The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by South African law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
- The winner agrees that the promoter may use his/her name and image in any publicity material relative to this competition.
- This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram or any other social network.
- All information relating to this competition and published on any promotional material shall form part of the terms and conditions of entry.
- By entering the competition and/or accepting the prize, entrants and winners hereby indemnify Werksmans Inc., the organisers, their directors, employees, agents, suppliers, and contractors from and against any actions, claims and/or liability for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from participation in the competition, acceptance of the prize and/or participation (or non-participation) in a prize-related activity.
