If you are interested in applying for either the Vacation Programme or the Candidate Attorney (CA) Programme (also known as Practical Vocational Training [PVT]) then you will need to complete our online application.
To simplify the application process, applicants only need to submit one application for both Vacation Work and the CA/PVT Programme. Please pay careful attention to which year of the CA/PVT Programme is linked to the opportunity that you are applying for once you have created your profile.
Werksmans uses the leap.ly application portal which is a secure, web-based application system that is available 24 hours a day. It can be used anywhere as long as you are able to access the internet.
In order to begin the online application you will need to create your leap.ly profile by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. After you have registered and provided some basic information (this should take less than 5 minutes), you will be presented with Werksmans’ opportunities for which you are eligible. Simply apply to the ones you prefer and ensure you check your leap.ly dashboard for any outstanding actions you need to take before we can review your application.
P.S. Only completed applications with all the relevant documents uploaded will be considered.
Leap.ly supports the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Chrome (the latter being preferable). Internet Explorer versions older than 11 is not supported.
Winter Vacation and CA/PVT Programme: Applications open in February and close 30 April
Summer Vacation and CA/PVT Programme: Applications open in July and close 30 September
Please note that we recruit up to 2-3 years in advance for the CA/PVT Programme.

- Applicants must be South African citizens/Non-South African citizens must have permanent residence or citizenship.
- We accept applications from the following disciplines from all accredited South African institutes of higher learning, LLB, B Com Law, BA Law.
- Applicants must have an overall academic average of 65% and higher.
