  • ARCELORMITTAL SOUTH AFRICA’S R1.5 BILLION FINE

    ArcelorMittal South Africa has been ordered by The Competition Commission to pay an antitrust fine of R1.5bn for their involvement in steel and scrap metals cartels, after an ongoing investigation which started in 2003. This record fine comes after the company admitted guilt on claims of fixing scrap metal prices, allocating customers and sharing commercially sensitive information with competitors.     Our Cape Town office has moved from Thibault Square in the CBD to the new Silo District in the heart of the V&A Waterfront.
